In this article, the concentration-dependent effect of the isoquinoline alkaloid 1-(4-
dimethylaminophenyl)-6,7-dimethoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline (F-24) on the
ATP-dependent potassium channel (mitoKATP channel) of rat cardiac mitochondria
exposed to the effect was studied. The experiments were performed in vitro. Rat
cardiac mitochondria were isolated by differential centrifugation. The effect of
isoquinoline alkaloid F-24 at a concentration of 5-20 μM on the mitoKATP channel
of rat hearts was studied. The effect of isoquinoline alkaloid on the mitoKATP
channel of the heart was carried out in the presence of ATP. In the presence of ATP,
the activating effect of isoquinoline alkaloid F-24 at concentrations of 10, 15 and 20
μM was clearly manifested. The comparative effect of isoquinoline alkaloid F-24
with the activator of mitoKATP channels diazoxide was studied. The complex effect
of isoquinoline alkaloid F-24 with diazoxide led to a further increase in the
conductivity of cardiac mitoKATP channels.
