Abstract

Critical thinking is a fundamental skill for teachers. It allows them to analyze
information, solve problems, and make informed decisions in the classroom.
However, many teacher training programs still emphasize memorization over
analytical skills. This paper explores the importance of critical thinking in teacher
education, discusses challenges in developing this skill, and presents strategies to
enhance it. The research also examines five key scientific theories that support
critical thinking development. The findings suggest that teacher education programs
should integrate reflective practices, problem-based learning, and active discussion
techniques to strengthen critical thinking abilities in beginner teachers.
