“MAASIR AL-MULUK - AN IMPORTANT SOURCE ABOUT HISTORICAL DYNASTIES”
Abstract
This article analyzes the preface to Khandamir’s work “Maasir
ul-muluk” (“History of the Concurrent Kings”), written in 1498–1499 at the request
of Alisher Navoi and as a token of gratitude to him, as a translation study. This work
contains wise sayings about the good deeds of the king and ancient sages. In
particular, the work consists of narrations from Kayumars, a representative of the
Peshdadi dynasty, the beginning of dynasties in Iran, to Anushervan, from Adam
Ato to Buzurgmehr, and about the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.v.) and the imams.
