Abstract
Problem-based learning allows to develop free thinking, scientific type of
cognition, helps students to master the techniques of discovery of new knowledge.
Such training allows to achieve personal results, creates an environment for the
development of active learning and cognitive activity, forms readiness for selfdevelopment
and, if necessary, first aid.
The idea and principles of problem-based learning in the context of research
into the psychology of thinking were developed by psychologists S. L. Rubinstein,
D. N. Bogoyavlensky, N. A. Menchinskaya, and in application to school education
- by M. A. Danilov, M. N. Skatkin. Problem-based learning has been studied by P.
