CROSS-LINGUISTIC PHONOLOGICAL FEATURES IN THE MORPHOLOGICAL FORMATION OF COMMANDS IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK

This study explores the phonological characteristics involved in the
morphological formation of imperative structures in English and Uzbek, two
typologically distinct languages. While English relies on intonation, stress, and
syllable reduction, Uzbek employs agglutinative morphology with vowel harmony
and suffixation. This research identifies universal and language-specific
phonological constraints that shape imperative verbs, including prosodic
adjustments, phonotactic rules, stress placement, and morphophonemic alternations.
The findings contribute to cross-linguistic phonology, morphophonology, and
command structure analysis.
